I’m a big fan of Jex Opolis; a personal favourite of mine and guaranteed floor filler is ‘Please Be Bad To Me‘ which harks back to proper disco music, which (from what I can hear) takes some inspiration from Oliver Cheatham’s ‘Saturday Night‘ with Stevie Wonder-esc chord progressions. BIG! This Boiler Room Debuts, ‘Circle of Drums’ is a cracking piece of synthy bliss, with whirling african and tabla drums in the background. This tune sounds like his progression from ‘Laxmi Tool‘ which uses a similar drum pattern with equal dope-ness. Hats off too Jex on this one, the EP is dropping next year via his own label Good Timin‘ and is on pre-order HERE.
